Kid’s Summer Beach Runs, Tuesdays in June and July, Siesta Key Beach
The imaginary starting pistol is shot off at 6:30 PM for the 1 mile fun run we call Kid’s Summer Beach Runs, allowing your littles to burn off some excess energy, while also ensuring that even during the summer months they are staying active. Meant for kids ages 1-17, there are no winners or losers, just a gaggle of youngsters having a great time and if you happen to be staying on Siesta Key for an extended visit that lasts at least a month, your kids will receive a participation ribbon and tee shirt after completing four runs.
Savor Sarasota, June 1-14, Various Restaurants
The meals we eat on vacations nearly always play a big part in our memories later on and when you want to experience an authentic taste of Siesta Key and the entire Sarasota area, Savor Sarasota offers the perfect opportunity to do so. Nearly 30 restaurants are participating in this fun event, offering multi course prixe fixe meals prepared by the best chefs in town and the participating restaurants this year will even offer wine pairings, cocktail flights, or upgrade options that will enhance the experience. Café Gabbiano, 5104 Ocean Boulevard on Siesta Key, is preparing a special Italian meal with a variety of choices in each course, so why not encourage your traveling party members to each order something different and you can all sample everything with bites off each other’s plates?

First of all, you may notice that we use Sarasota and Siesta Key interchangeably, as they are so close to each other it doesn’t make sense not to share Sarasota’s events with our guests. And now that we have that out of the way, let’s talk about the Grand Carnival in Bloom, Project Pride SRQ’s kickoff to Pride Month. Offering an evening of flowers, music, beautiful people, and delicious food and drink, this wonderful event will be filled with fun, color, and love. VIP and early bird tickets are on sale, allowing guests to enjoy even more of this grand night to remember.
Siesta Key Drum Circle, Sundays, Siesta Beach
If this is your first time visiting Florida, you will soon understand that you have never experienced a sunset as spectacular as the ones that happen over our white sand beaches, and on Siesta Key we even have a weekly event that celebrates the sun, music, and the beauty of people from all over the world. The Siesta Key Drum Circle takes place every Sunday evening about an hour before sunset, inviting everyone to participate as the drums beat, the people dance, and the sun sets the sky on fire. Hula hoops, exotic costumes, and a beautiful feeling of togetherness makes this event one of the most popular in the state and it is free to attend.
Dad’s Day Block Party, June 15, University Town Center in Sarasota
You may have noticed that we don’t tend to celebrate dad as much as we do mom, but the Dad’s Day Block Party at University Town Center is about to change all that. Offering a variety of fun activities your dad will love as well as the chance to meet and greet some of their favorite sports stars, food, drink, and vendors selling stuff just for dad will ensure that he feels loved in ways he probably has never thought of.
