He moved back east, living in different cities, including Montreal and Toronto, until moving to Sarasota, where he currently resides. Once in Siesta Key, he opened the Surfrider Restaurant then in 1983 opened Miguel’s Restaurant.

Menus at Miguel’s Restaurant

It isn’t easy to do the three menus justice with a paragraph or two. They offer main courses like supreme de poulet cordon bleu, roast duck, veal piccata filet de boeuf forestire. Choices of appetizers include soup du jour or garlic soup, a family specialty from Spain. Entrees consist of a tossed salad, garlic bread, vegetables du jour, and potato du jour. And don’t forget to top it off with a dessert du jour.

There is also a menu of hor d’oeuvres, soups and salads, and main courses of fish, poultry, meats, and delectable dessert choices like vanilla bean crème brulee, sorbet, chocolate mousse, and tableside desserts like banana foster and cherries jubilee. But with the delicious appetizers, entrees, and main courses, it’s hard to have room for more food—yet who could resist those choices?

Miguel’s Restaurant Sarasota also hosts special events, like a Forks & Corks wine dinner, Bastille Day celebrations, St. Paddy’s Day at Miguel’s, Fourth of July celebrations, and more. If you are hosting an event while you’re here, consider Miguel’s for catering. Want some of the fantastic upscale menu choices but can’t stay to eat?
