The primary route to Siesta Key from Interstate 75 is straightforward. Take Exit 205 (Clark Road / State Road 72) and head west toward the coast. Clark Road takes you directly across the south bridge onto Siesta Key. From there, Midnight Pass Road runs the length of the island north to south, connecting all of the island’s beaches, neighborhoods, and commercial areas. If you are approaching from the north side, you can also access the island via Siesta Drive, which crosses the north bridge near Siesta Key Village.
For travelers arriving by air, the closest airport is Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ), located approximately 20 minutes from Siesta Key by car. SRQ is a convenient mid-sized airport with service from major carriers including Allegiant, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, and United. For more flight options and often lower fares, Tampa International Airport (TPA) is approximately 75 miles north of Siesta Key, roughly a 90-minute drive via Interstate 75 South. Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers is about two hours south.
Once you are on Siesta Key, getting around is simple. The island is approximately eight miles long and just over a mile wide at its widest point. Most destinations on the island are within a short drive or bike ride. The main commercial area, Siesta Key Village, is located on the north end near the north bridge and offers walkable access to shops, restaurants, and the main public beach. Free trolley service is available seasonally, connecting key points along the island.
